1885 $20 Double Eagle Money Clip 14k & Alaskan Gold Nuggets

  

This is a unique item not seen often. This piece was done by Irvine Lavrene(IL), which then became Lavrene & Lavrene(L&L) Jewelers. I don't know that actual spelling of the last name of the artist. The coin in the center is an 1885 Double Eagle, the mint mark cannot be seen in the current setting. It is believed to be an 1885-S.

The total piece weighs 59 grams (pictured). Double Eagle Coins weigh 33.44 grams. The clip itself should be about 25.56grams. For reference that is nearly 1.5ozt Fine Gold (1.447ozt)/(45.05grams). Free free to request additional photos, or information.
