This is a Queen Elizabeth II Gold Sovereign from 1967. One of the most recognisable coins in the world, the British Full Sovereign is manufactured by the Royal Mint and struck in 22 carat gold (916.7 fineness). The coin features the traditional St.

George and the dragon design on its reverse side, and bears the'young head' first portrait of Queen Victoria of Her Majesty the Queen on the obverse. The Full Sovereign weighs 7.98g and contains exactly 7.315g of pure gold. Struck from 1817 until the present time, it was originally a circulating coin accepted in Britain and elsewhere in the world; it is now a bullion coin and is sometimes mounted in jewellery.
